The National Land Commission, in partnership with the Wyss Academy for Nature and other stakeholders, has launched natural assets mapping reports for Isiolo, Samburu and Laikipia counties to strengthen sustainable land governance, climate resilience and evidence-based planning through the protection of critical ecosystems.
Kenya’s arid and semi-arid lands are far more than vast open landscapes—they are home to vital ecosystems that sustain livelihoods, biodiversity and climate resilience. Through a partnership between the National Land Commission, the Wyss Academy for Nature and other stakeholders, a new mapping initiative is providing the data needed to protect these natural assets and guide sustainable land governance.
