Kenya Unveils Bold Plan to Close Sh13 Trillion Agricultural Financing Gap
The Government of Kenya has launched a strategic roadmap to bridge the Sh13 trillion ($100 billion) annual financing gap in Africa’s agricultural sector. Speaking at the media launch of the FINAS 2026 Summit, leaders from the Ministry of Agriculture, AFC, and AGRA called for a radical shift toward data-driven, affordable, and “bankable” investments. By transforming the informal sector through the new CADIC data initiative and advocating for subsidized interest rates, the summit aims to empower the “invisible” 80% of farmers and secure Africa’s food sovereignty.
