NAIROBI— Energy manufacturers, investors and e-mobility leaders from more than 40 countries are expected in Nairobi for the third edition of Powerelec Kenya, an international exhibition showcasing innovations in solar power, energy storage and renewable energy.
The three-day event will run from November 10 to 12 at the Sarit Expo Centre, bringing together industry stakeholders to explore investment opportunities, exchange knowledge and strengthen partnerships across the clean-energy sector.
Sungrow, a global manufacturer of photovoltaic inverters and energy storage solutions, returns as the Principal Sponsor for the third consecutive year, while Huawei Digital Power will serve as the Headline Sponsor.
Speaking ahead of the exhibition, Sungrow Sub-Saharan Africa President Nigel Sun said the company would use the event to strengthen local partnerships and expand access to solar and energy storage technologies.
“With more than 1,100 GW of power electronic converters installed worldwide, Sungrow brings extensive experience in PV inverters and energy storage to the Kenyan market,” Sun said.
He added that the company looked forward to working with local partners to deliver reliable and efficient solar and energy storage solutions to more customers across the region.
The exhibition will feature technologies in solar photovoltaics, batteries, energy storage, power generation, electrical engineering and electric-vehicle charging, with opportunities for manufacturers, distributors and investors to explore business collaborations and expand their market reach.
Huawei Digital Power will showcase smart photovoltaic and energy storage solutions for utility-scale power projects, commercial and industrial facilities, residential applications and microgrids.
Its portfolio includes grid-forming energy storage systems, photovoltaic inverters and hybrid cooling technologies designed to improve efficiency, safety and flexibility in different energy applications.
The company also highlighted its focus on artificial intelligence and grid-forming technologies to support power systems increasingly driven by renewable energy.
Running alongside the exhibition will be a free conference featuring eight sessions over three days, focusing on financing, technology and the future of Africa’s energy transition.
The programme will open with a plenary session on November 10, followed by discussions on energy storage, digitalisation and decarbonisation.
The second day will focus on green financing and include a chief executive officers’ forum on women leading Kenya’s energy ecosystem.
The final day will feature the Utility Masters’ Forum, examining major energy infrastructure projects in Kenya, before concluding with a session on the country’s growing electric mobility sector.
VERIFAIR Dubai Managing Director Jeen Joshua said Kenya was emerging as an important destination for renewable energy investment in East Africa.
“Collaboration among technology providers, investors, policymakers, and industry stakeholders will be vital to accelerating innovation and sustainable growth,” Joshua said.
The exhibition comes as Kenya continues to expand its renewable energy capacity and strengthen its position as a regional hub for clean-energy investment.
Powerelec Kenya 2026 will also feature Diamond Sponsors Sigenergy and JA Solar, alongside Gold Sponsors Gadgetronix, Power & Sun, Kevi Power, Growatt, Jinko ESS and Atmoce.
Industry associations supporting the event include the Energy Storage Association of Kenya (ESAK), the Kenya Renewable Energy Association (KEREA) and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI).
Entry to the exhibition and conference is free upon registration through www.powereleckenya.com/registration. The full programme is available at www.powereleckenya.com.
