NAIROBI, June 4 — The National Treasury has reaffirmed its commitment to market deregulation, highlighting that eliminating restrictive trade practices could boost Kenya’s real GDP by 4.9 percent and formal employment by 2.6 percent by 2035. Speaking at the Research Conference on Competition and Consumer Welfare, National Treasury Principal Secretary Dr. Chris Kiptoo pledged continued financial and policy backing for the Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK).
