Jubilee Party Secretary General Richard Moitalel Ole Kenta addresses the media after a meeting with party officials, branch leaders and aspirants from Tana River County in Nairobi on July 30, 2026
NAIROBI, July 30 – The Jubilee Party has intensified its preparations for the 2027 General Election after officially receiving new aspirants from Tana River County and outlining a nationwide campaign strategy aimed at strengthening its grassroots structures.
Speaking to the media after a meeting with Jubilee Party officials, branch leaders and aspirants from Tana River in Nairobi, Jubilee Party Secretary General Richard Moitalel Ole Kenta said the party remained committed to peace, national unity and inclusive leadership, urging political leaders to embrace responsible leadership and reject divisive rhetoric.
“Jubilee is a national party for every Kenyan regardless of where they come from. We are a party of peace that respects the dignity of every citizen and believes Kenyans should never be divided by political affiliations or ethnic differences,” Ole Kenta said.
He condemned recent inflammatory political remarks directed at fellow Kenyans, saying such statements were unacceptable from leaders entrusted with promoting national cohesion.
He called on investigative and prosecutorial agencies to take action against individuals who incite hatred and warned that Kenya should learn from the violence experienced after the 2007 General Election and similar tragedies witnessed elsewhere.
“We must never allow our country to return to such a path. Kenya belongs to all of us and to future generations, and every leader, whether in government or the opposition, has a duty to promote peace and national unity,” he said.
Ole Kenta said Jubilee was actively participating in engagements with like-minded parties under the United Opposition, noting that the coalition was seeking to provide alternative leadership capable of addressing the high cost of living, unemployment, heavy taxation, challenges facing the education sector and other socio-economic concerns.
He urged Kenyans to support the party, saying Jubilee remained committed to safeguarding peace, strengthening democracy and ensuring the country remained united as it prepares for the 2027 General Election.
Meanwhile, Jubilee National Chairperson Vincent Mogaka Kemosi said the meeting followed a two-day National Executive Committee (NEC) retreat in Karen that adopted a one-year roadmap to guide the party’s activities ahead of the General Election.
“We have had a fruitful engagement with the leadership from Tana River and officially received them into the Jubilee Party. They have committed to championing the party’s agenda in the Coast region as we implement our roadmap towards the 2027 General Election,” Kemosi said.
He said the meeting was attended by Jubilee Deputy Party Leader and presidential candidate Dr Fred Okengo Matiang’i, who later left for another engagement after meeting the delegation.
Kemosi said the party had welcomed several leaders from Tana River who had previously belonged to different political parties, including former ANC members and others from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), adding that their decision to join Jubilee reflected growing confidence in the party.
He said Jubilee would begin regional campaign tours within the next three weeks, starting with a two-day visit to Tana River, before rolling out similar engagements across the country.
The party, he added, would review the implementation of its campaign roadmap on a monthly basis as it prepares for the elections.
“We are ready for the elections and Jubilee will field candidates in all elective positions across the country, from Members of County Assembly to the presidency under our presidential candidate, Dr Fred Okengo Matiang’i,” Kemosi said.
He said the party would field candidates in all 1,450 county assembly wards, 290 constituencies, 47 senatorial seats, 47 women representative positions and 47 gubernatorial seats, expressing confidence that Jubilee would continue attracting leaders from across the country.
The recruitment of the Tana River aspirants forms part of Jubilee’s broader strategy to strengthen its grassroots networks and expand its national presence ahead of the 2027 General Election.
